The Next MS Office Version

This might be old news to some, but reports say Microsoft is thinking of making a free, ad-supported version of Office.

I’d like to beta test the software to see what it can do. I’m wondering how smart the ads can be. There is smart, as in "keyword smart", and then there is really smart...

# Research Task Pane

I tried getting really smart. SaaS(y) as a matter of fact but I'm surrounded by too many dummies, scoffers, and fat heads with jobs who think they got it made because they can get paid to write code while I'm out in the streets begging for attention learning how to do it myself.

Microsoft made it possible to run applications in task panes when they released the Office 2003 beta. They even offer to co-market any solutions their ISVs develop. Boy did that wake me up and give me something to look forward too.

Office 12 will continue to support this and more. While there's money to be made releasing Word Lite licensed with a piggyback business model greater business opportunities exist for those who will develop solutions licensed to the enterprise.
